
In the second episode of the series ‘Research Software and NRENs in Asia’, we will explore the role of research software in environmental research, with a focus on open science and open sharing. We will discuss about how research software can be used to address environmental challenges in Southeast Asia. The session will also highlight the importance of open data sharing and collaboration among researchers and institutions in the region.

Dr. Veerachai Tanpipat, Senior Expert, Hydro Informatics Institute, Thailand
Dr. Veerachai Tanpipat is a remote sensing engineer and geographer. His work has focused on wildfires, transboundary haze, and flooding throughout Southeast Asia. Currently, he is an advisor to the Director-General of Thailand’s Pollution Control Department, a founding member of the Upper ASEAN Wildland Fire Special Research Unit, Senior Expert Faculty Member of Forestry at Kasetsart University, Co-chair of APAN working groups Disaster Mitigation, and Agriculture and is the Chair of the Open Science Collaborative and Resoruce (OSCR) working group.
